SharePoint Videos For Beginners

SharePoint is an incredibly powerful tool for organizations of all sizes, but it can be overwhelming to learn if you’re new to the platform. One of the best ways to get started with SharePoint is by learning how to use its video features.

Videos are a great way to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner. By using videos within your SharePoint site, you can create engaging training modules, share important company news, or even simply entertain your coworkers during lunch breaks.

In this tutorial, we’ll go over the basics of working with videos in SharePoint for beginners.

Step 1: Uploading Your Video
To start using videos in SharePoint, you’ll first need to upload them to your site. You can do this by going to the “Site Contents” page and clicking on the “Upload” button. From there, select the type of file you want to upload (in this case, a video file), and choose the folder where you want it to be stored.

Step 2: Creating A Video Library
Once your video is uploaded, you’ll need to create a video library to store all of your videos in one place. To do this, go to the “Site Actions” menu and select “Add an App”. From there, search for “Video” and click on the “Video Library” app. Follow the prompts to set up the app, and you’ll have a brand new video library that you can use to store all of your videos.

Step 3: Adding Videos To Your Site
Now that you have a video library set up, it’s time to start adding some videos! To do this, go back to the “Site Contents” page and click on the “Add New Item” button. From there, select the type of item you want to add (in this case, a video), and choose the video library where you want it to be stored.

Step 4: Sharing Your Video
Once your video is uploaded and added to your site, you’ll need to share it with others so they can watch it. To do this, go back to the “Site Actions” menu and select “Share”. From there, choose the people or groups you want to share the video with, and add any necessary notes.

Step 5: Embedding Your Video
If you want to embed your video in a page within your site, you can do that too! To start, go to the page where you want to embed the video, and click on the “Edit” button. From there, select the “Insert” menu and choose “Video”. Select the video you want to embed from the list of available videos, and follow the prompts to insert it into your page.

That’s it! With these steps, you should be able to start using videos in SharePoint like a pro. Just remember that practice makes perfect, so don’t be afraid to experiment and try new things. Happy learning!
